EDWIN APARICIO
FLAMENCO TEACHER, DANCER, & CHOREOGRAPHER
"Enredo" at GALA Hispanic Theatre on November 17, 18, and 19.
"Enredo" is a reflection of the dual nature of the human experience, individual and social. Our individual lives are intertwined with the lives of others from the moment life itself begins. Relationships and even encounters can leave a significant mark on one's life, changing the course of events, bending one's journey, adding ingredients, and even altering one's relationship with the self. What in us is innate, what is inherited, what is acquired? What is responsible for maintaining the inner integrity of an individual? How our unique self affects another and how much is it shaped by the other? How connections hold us back or move us forward? Those are just a few questions that we tried to explore in this new work.
In "Enredo", we look at solitude and a relationship not as two opposites but as a spectrum, where individuality and unity are in a constant dance with each other, co-creating an intricate tapestry of our lives.
