With hands clapping high in the air and feet thundering on the dance floor, Flamenco is a heart-stopping combination of power, grace and rhythm. Leading a company of 12 dancers, veteran flamenco performer, choreographer and teacher Edwin Aparicio pushes the form past its limits, to the accompaniment of throaty a cappella singing and a blazing four-musician ensemble. The Washington Post calls him “a technical powerhouse dancing with blistering conviction.” Aparicio and company perform to packed houses across the country.
